Both toxic and infectious materials comprise this class which is divided into two divisions, each with its own unique hazard class label.
Hazard Class 6 Toxic Substances White Label
Toxic materials in Division 6.1, such as cyanide solutions and pesticides, require a white label with a "skull and crossbones" at the top and the number 6 at the bottom.
Hazard Class 6 Inhalation Hazard White Label
hen transported into or within the US by any mode. This label
includes a black background behind the "skull and crossbones."
Hazard Class 6 Toxic Substances White PGIII Label
Certain materials that have low toxicity, such as tetrachloroethylene, and
which have been assigned to Division 6.1
packing group III may display an
alternative label that includes the words "PG III." This label is used
primarily for air shipments and has replaced the now obsolete "Keep Away

Hazard Class 6 Infectious Substances White Label
Division 6.2 includes substances such as virus cultures and potentially
infectious blood samples. These materials require
a white label with three
crescents superimposed on a circle at the top and the number 6 at the
bottom.
The lower portion of the label must contain information on who to
notify in the event of damage or leakage.
